Biden and Harris Are Pro-Labor, Says UA Member in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes and 700,000 union members could make all the difference in the presidential election. For Pennsylvania union members like Luke Wanchock of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA), the decision of who to vote for comes down to who will support our rights on the job. “I voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” Wanchock told “CBS This Morning.” “They’re pro-labor. I’ve never watched a Trump commercial and seen him mention anything about union labor….I don’t believe a single thing he said.”

Wanchock works at the Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Complex, a massive new Shell facility that processes ethane from shale gas. While President Trump wants to take credit for the facility that is crucial to western Pennsylvania’s fracking industry, it was really the Obama–Biden administration that approved and permitted the project. The UA represents more than 2,000 workers at this plant near Pittsburgh.
